A simple hands-on metric cube demonstration for
educators and students to show the close relationship between Length,
Volume and Mass.
How meters, liters and kilograms are derived as units for
Everyday Metric Measurement in America. All simply related in
10
without
complicated figures or fractions.
Cut along Red Dash Lines around the perimeter. REMOVE EXCESS PAPER as shaded areas
surrounding
image. Take care to avoid cutting
through
the 2 Flaps marked
with Blue Dashes.

With a butter knife and a straight edge ruler, score
a creased impression along
ALL Red and Blue Dashed
Lines.
3.
Fold along
ALL Red and Blue
Dashed Lines that
have been scored.
Then lay flat.
4. Hold flat and Razor Cut along the Red Dashed
Slot Line,
Figure A.
5.
Cut open Panels ONLY along
Red Dashed Lines
and fold Flaps B and C inward.
6. Fold the Length of the Image in half and
insert Flap B into Slot (Figure A).
Then secure with sticky tape and join together.
7. Open to form a square box with
free moving panels.
And from the bottom,
fold
Panels
1, 2 and 3 right up inward
against the square box walls.
8.Close the bottom panel with
Flap C inside box and
sticky tape together.
9. Inside container, make sure to lower
ONLY Panels2 and 3 back down flat
to bottom for structural strength.
10. Then fold ALL of the Top Panels inside,
right against the inner walls to
form an Instant Metric Cube that is
exactly
10 cm x 10 cm x 10 cm
(1000 cmณ).
