Battement Tendu Pirouettes
en dehors
On the Other Side from Fourth Position
This is a combination of Battement Tendu, degage, change of directions, changes of body weight into double pirouettes.
The FLOOR PRESSURE here is all important,
as we come back to a good fifth position as was discussed at the barre.
Open battement tendu front, full degage with rond de jambe and switching corners, repeat degage and
2 x battement tendu to derriere.
Repeat from the left side.
2 x battement tendu to the side (changing legs) and quick battement jeté to First Position.
Repeat 2 x battement tendu, 3 x jetés, preparation on passé and pirouettes en dehors from Fourth Position close to the back and finish pirouettes in degage Fourth Position on the left side.
Now we move into the other side. |
The center needs to be nice and strong to keep making the changeover from one foot to the other.

Tendu - means to stretch.
Battement Tendu -
is the stretching of the leg and foot away from the body with toes
remaining on the surface of the floor.
Plié - means bending of the knees.
Demi-Plié - is half bending of the knees.
Grand-Plié - is half bending of the knees.
Ports de Bras - graceful and expressive movement of the arms.
Relevé - raised up or
to rise.
Demi-plié, Relevé -
half bend raised up.
