Exercise 17
Adage
We move into the adage exercise which is the slow controlled movement from the centre and the back.
Starts facing to the corner, with slide into First
Position arabesque, switch corners, leg goes up derriere, and jeté, passé through and open side, passé again and attitude croisé derriere. Slow promenade into attitude effacé and port de bras and pirouette en dedans.
Port de bras front and back.
When you finish corners and pirouette en dedans, close front
and do the other side.

First of all showing the
arabesque line into a nice deep fondu, rotating through the reteré
out to the second
position,into the attitude promonade and good control of the supporting leg, pivotting
on the ball of the foot.

Feel it through both arms across the back while you
lunge.
|
|
|
A lot of use of port de bras are used here, very similar to the moves used at the barre
this time we use en dedans pirouette. |

Relaxing the head, taking the full port de bras, then we rise...
and finish in fifth position. |

Tendu - means to stretch.
Battement Tendu -
is the stretching of the leg and foot away from the body with toes
remaining on the surface of the floor.
Plié - means bending of the knees.
Demi-Plié - is half bending of the knees.
Grand-Plié - is half bending of the knees.
Ports de Bras - graceful and expressive movement of the arms.
Relevé - raised up or
to rise.
Demi-plié, Relevé -
half bend raised up.
