KEAWAKAPU BEACH
About 1 km (0.6 mile) south of
Kamaole Beach III, a popular spot for swimming, snorkeling and
bodysurfing. Suntanning is naturally devine. Public access is at the
intersection of south Kihei Road and Kilohana Drive as well as at the
southern end of the park. Parking provided, a white sandy beach with sandy
bottom offshore await.
MOKAPU BEACH
Further south from Keawakapu Beach
on an access road just past Wailea Beach on Alanui signs indicate beach
and paved parking has a walkway on right. Swimming is incredible and
bodysurfing possible at times. Snorkeling can be beautiful in the morning
as the sandy bottom gradually deepens.
ULUA BEACH
Use the same access road as to
Mokapu Beach. One of the best beaches for bodysurfing but snorkeling is
also excellent in this crystal clear water with sandy bottom on gentle
slope.
WAILEA BEACH
Has access signs clearly marked
with paved parking and walkways to beach. Good swimming, bodysurfing and
snorkeling at the rocky points at either end of the beach.
POLO BEACH
Paved
parking and paved walkway to the beach give way to landscaped park. Access
is clearly marked by signs and this beach is good for swimming and
bodysurfing. To the right side of lava point, snorkeling is also very good
when waters are calm.
PALAUEA BEACH
This
beach is accessible along the shore from Polo Beach and is a good
bodysurfing and swimming beach. The sandy bottom deepens gradually but
property between beach and Makena Road is private.
PO' OLENALENA BEACH
Accessible
from Makena Road, this beach is opposite the Wailea Blue Golf Course. The
bottom deepens gradually and provides good swimming along this lengthy
beach.
